Brilliant idea!

This is a fantastic idea, and I'd love to see it get released on Steam some day. However, one addition which could make this game ultimately perfect would be levels or stages to choose from, each increasing in difficulty. The upgrades could remain the same, but having an actual permanent level gain feature would be cool, so you can level up extremely high during stages, but then start with your normal stats again at each new stage, with minor upgrades which you permanently keep from gaining EXP or something.
